SR and Premix Burners

spacer To provide engineered solutions for the vast array of applications, Burner Systems International offers a wide variety of SR and Premix burners. Our state-of-the-art gas laboratory develops and tests the combustion aspects to assure each burner meets exact application requirements. Solid modeling software is used to create burner geometry that fits the physical characteristics of the appliance. With our unique blend of technical development and support, BSI specifically tailors burner designs to fit each customer application.

SR Burners
The BSI SR burner operates with a higher percent of primary air than tubular burners. Due to the reduced demand for secondary combustion air, there are several significant advantages offered by SR burner technology:

  • Higher BTU/in² output than tubular burners
  • Lower flame profile
  • Reduced combustion chamber size
  • Output modulation
  • Internal venturi (shorter burner length)

The 50mm x 70mm oval burner allows for an even higher output in an equal size combustion chamber compared to round SR burners due to the increased burner volume.

Premix Burners
The BSI premix burner utilizes 100% primary air for combustion. These burners are currently produced in diameters of 57mm and 63mm; however, it is possible to produce other diameters in order to meet the output required for special customer applications.
Advantages of BSI premix burners include:

  • Higher BTU/in² output than SR burners
  • Can be mounted in any orientation
  • Heat output 360º around the burner
  • Reduced emission of NOx and CO

Premix SR
The BSI Premix SR offers the maximum output in a given combustion chamber space, since the burners can actually be placed with no space between the burners. There are several additional benefits related to BSI's Premix SR technology:

  • May be placed side by side with no spacing between them
  • Higher BTU/in² output than SR burners
  • Premix technology available for standard heat exchangers
  • Output modulation (with BSI ceramic sleeve)
  • Premix technology available for standard heat exchangers
  • Lower emissions of NOx and CO (NOx approximately 20 PPM air free)
